Nice. You really need someone on bass though.
I look forwards to hearing the lyrics for this and seeing more from you. I believe you have something. |

It sounds like quite a generic green-day style punk song (which if that was what you were aiming for is fine). sounds like the chords you are playing are F
minor, C major and Bb major but you changed a lot between (almost) full chords and 5ths. Your pseudo solo towards the end of the song feels a little jerky but
Im sure you're already better at it now than when you recorded this. For my personal taste I'd like to see a few extra chords in there, maybe some kind
of bridge section and/or key change to make the solo section stand out and bring your song to an emotional high point, and a slightly tastier solo. But that is
just my taste. If you were aiming for American idiot era green day then you're spot on.

I agree that it was a bit jerky. lol. I remember recording this. We messed up the first couple of times (we recorded the same song at least 7 times). We judged
on which one was the best. Brendan liked this one because he did the drum solos. I don't like this one because I realized that the solo was too loud and
you're right. It was jerky.
Well, there IS a bridge in there. It was just two chords. We need a rythme guitarist to fill in that empty space in the solo. That's probably why it sounded weird. During the solo, the rythme guitarist plays the chorus and bridge together and then go back to the chorus at the end. We weren't aiming to play as any band. We were just fooling around. I'm the kind of guitarist who plays by ear. The song kinda wrote itself. I'd rather be a rythme guitarist. There're going to be other songs, but yeah. We'll be working more on this song. I think in order to make the solo fit, we need to change the chords during the solo. And then we'll rework on building from the new chords. Thanks for the advice. I'll be looking into it. |
