Do you know, It took myself and one of my friends almost 3 times the time it normally takes for someone to level up to where we are. But i attribute that to the fact that the game isnt about level to us eithear. The biggest attraction was always exploring the world. Instead of grinding or repeating the same instance as much as possible we would explore new areas as much as was humanly possible..... Combined, we probably have the most well explored maps in Azeroth.

I agree with you wholeheartedly and I too get really ticked off when people who haven't really given the game a proper try spend their time ignorantly dissing it. If there was something you really enjoyed and I hadn't tried it and was slagging it off to you, totally ignoring everything you had to say about it... You'd get annoyed too.

I've got a lot of characters on WoW, because I get bored eventually with one of them and go play...

Ah, I wasn't really ticked off about the conversation going off topic. It was more a case of me being irritated at the seeming negativity produced by my inquiry. I was really only lashing out at it because i was ranting.

I see where your coming from on the books issue.

However, I wasn't suggesting that video games can or should replace reading. I read heavily and would encourage...

HD Cerebus, firstly I want to congratulate you on that post, it was everything that I would expect to see on a forum and everything that seems to be lacking in a lot of threads here. I am not going to apologise for letting the conversation get so off topic however as at the time certainly it felt a lot like a natural progression of the subject matter and I'm not one to stiffle healthy debate.

Your post did get me thinking however, and I hope you wont mind me adding this to it....

Deon - not exactly, I do make new products as well, but I do also modify existing products.
And with the windmill, I can technically hook it up to anything if I have a charge controller and a battery pack big enough.

Dervish - My Mumis the computer one, she sometimes spends 14 or more hours a day on this one gaming website... It drives me insane....

So, you hook up solar panels to already existing equipment. That's not so much inventing as it is recycling

I should imagine that so long as you know the power output of your solar panel or windmill, you can work out pretty easily what can or cannot be powered by it.

Still it's another thing to add to your CV eh graf? How big is the word file on that mofo now?

I work as an Inventor for a plcae that makes "Sensible Energy Alterantives" right now, basically I assemble junk in the abck of the shop to see waht I can make run off solar pannels or a mini windmill..

And cats are random like that..

I'm much more the kind of perosn who prefers actually doing physucal labour while I work.

Me too =) That's why I chose to work night shifts at Tesco supermarket rather than day shifts. Much more hard graft and rewarding. As for WoW, I could never get into it (despite Simon thinking I could xD). It just seems that little bit too geeky for me.

On a complete tangent, a cat from a neighbour's house down the road just came in through...

I was converting from pounds to canadian dollars, you went from USD to CAD so obviously their rates are a little different. :-)

Exactly kiz, it'd cost us loads to go out to the cinema together every week for a month whereas we cans ee each other every week and play WoW together for less money

$14.99 per month for a month-to-month recurring subscription
$13.99 per month for a 3-month recurring subscription
$12.99 per month for a 6-month recurring subscription

Obviously that's Dollars US so the conversion today is...

$17.40 for month-to-month
$16.25 per month on the 3 month plan
$15 per month on the 6 month plan.

£1 = $1.8912 CAD

therefore one month WoW subscription in Canada is $17.0048 CAD.

to buy WoW and the first expansion = £15, so in canada $27.3876 CAD

I wasn't really ranting about casual gamers (and with the conversions between UK and Canadian currency, it's about 50 here..), I was targeting gamers taht spend weeks on end playing these games.
